A dream weekend at the Nurburgring crowns Kessel Racing as both Team and Drivers' Champions in the Blancpain Endurance Series.

BLANCPAIN ENDURANCE SERIES

It was a dream weekend for Kessel Racing at the Nurburgring, the setting of the fifth race of the season in the Blancpain Endurance Series and the fifth season of racing for the SRO-promoted racing series. The Endurance season ended in triumph for the team from Grancia by becoming 2016 Team Champions in both the PRO-AM and AM classes, as well as Drivers' Champions with Broniszewski-Bonacini-Rizzoli in the PRO-AM class and Gitlin-Talbot-Zanuttini in the AM class. Two extraordinary achievements that crown a fantastic season during which the team was on top at every opportunity with notable victories at Monza and Spa-Francorchamps. Whenever a victory didn't come in the individual class there was always a podium placement or one just short of a podium meaning valuable points were taken which proved instrumental in producing the ultimate triumph at the Nurburgring.

The last race of the Endurance season saw Broniszewski-Bonacini-Rizzoli finish second with a tight and flawless race, while the AM class saw Gitlin-Talbot-Zanuttini finish fifth overall and ended the season first in the AM standings.

RONNIE KESSEL (Team Principal): "Well, stepping onto the winners' podium in a Championship like the Blancpain Endurance Series brings immense joy and rewards all of the team for the brilliant work they have done all these years. We can at last celebrate together in seeing our name as well as our drivers' names written on the golden hall of fame list. Tonight we're going to celebrate and tomorrow we'll start again with new motivations since our upcoming commitments and our competitors are just around the corner waiting for us. And we will be happy to take on new challenges with renewed optimism".
